So, what’s your success rate with the affiliate campaigns that you embark on? During the early days, I remember a lot of them conking out on me in spite of the considerable research and time that I spent on them! After multiple failures I realized that I was spending too much time and effort and getting very little out of it (hardly in proportion to the investments of time that I was making…).
I slowly started shifting gears. Spent time learning how to get things done right, before jumping into the exercise of actually doing them. Even something as simple as article marketing – for instance, I think it’s amazing how much more traffic the same bunch of articles bring in if they go live on a certain time period as opposed to another. And no, I’m not talking astrology here This is apparently a well-known technique called Piggy Backing. Plan ahead of time and watch out for product launch/release dates – those which create plenty of hype are the ones of interest to you. Build your own reputation as an authority of the niche, and get your articles out there when there is relatively little keyword competition.
You would have hopefully grabbed top spots in Google almost easily this way – and then when the much-awaited time for launches grow closer, the hype seeps in, the keywords get more searches, and bingo, your affiliate advertisements (the soft-sells in the articles) get a lot more visibility than they would have if you had posted them, say, a few months after the launch.
